Dr. Gene Baker
Louisiana State University

Biography:

Gene Baker is associate vice chancellor for information technology in the LSU Agricultural Center. Previously, Baker served as the division leader for Environmental Programs in the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service for more than three years and as an Extension specialist in agricultural engineering for more than 28 years.

Baker has spearheaded recent Ag Center efforts to develop a network of "distance learning" sites across the state and will be responsible for planning use of information technology to facilitate delivery of Ag Center programs and develop specialized educational programs to facilitate better adoption and use of emerging technology by Ag Center faculty and staff members.
