Biography:
Branen, who graduated from the University of Idaho in 1967 with a bachelor's
degree in food science, received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1970.
He was a professor of Food Science at the University of Wisconsin and
served as professor and department chair Food Science at Washington State
University and the University of Nebraska before returning to Idaho in
1983. He served as professor of food science, associate dean and dean
within the University of Idaho college of agriculture. He has served as
executive director for Institutional Planning and Budget from 1997-1999
before returning as dean of the college in 1999.
