Dr. Holly Youngbear-Tibbetts
College of the Menominee Nation
Biography:
Dr. Holly Youngbear-Tibbetts serves as dean of Outreach & Sustainable
Development Institute at the the College of Menominee Nation. Holly taught
for the College during its first semester while a faculty member at UW-Stevens
Point, and returned to the College of Menominee Nation as Dean of Outreach
and Sustainable Development in the 1997-1998 academic year. Holly received
her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has
extensive professional experience in planning, program design and development
in addition to her experience in higher education. Her recent scholarship
includes native land issues in North America and the Antipodes and environmental
risks to women, children and native communities. Holly is the recipient
of awards and fellowships from the Council on Institutional Cooperation,
the Bush Foundation, and The John T. and Katherine D. MacArthur Foundation
Grants for Peace and International Cooperation. Her publications include
journal articles, books and research for the Earth Summitss Forestry
Accords.
