PricewaterhouseCoopers/Management Consulting Services Guidelines
for Vendor, College/University and other Subconractor Press Releases
about the Army University Access Online (AUAO) Program
- There must be a signed (fully executed) agreement underlying the
subcontractor’s role on the AUAO project, not just a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU). In addition, the agreement must contain specific,
binding obligations.
- A press release that announces a signed agreement with a subcontractor
should contain language that accurately describes the terms of the
agreement. In addition, the press release language should omit references
to, or descriptions of, activities not yet negotiated, agreed to and
signed for by both PricewaterhouseCoopers/Management Consulting Services
and the subcontractor.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers/Management Consulting Services cannot endorse
an organization, product or service directly or through implication;
as such, language in a press release that may be construed as an endorsement
will be edited or removed from the copy entirely .
- References to the subcontractor and its products or services cannot
be in superlative or exclusive terms. Examples of such terms are "the
best," "the leading," "the premier," "the
only," etc. In addition, descriptions of relevant products and
services must be concise and factual.
- Superlative terms in reference to PricewaterhouseCoopers or its
people should not be used (e.g., "expert," "specialist")
unless they are supported with facts or undisputedly recognized in
the marketplace (e.g., "largest professional services organization").
- The terms "partner" and "partnership"—or variations
thereof—cannot be used in reference to our relationships with subcontractors.
- The term "firm" cannot be used when referring to Management
Consulting Services or the global PricewaterhouseCoopers
organization. (In the strictest and legal sense, the "firm"
refers to a specific entity, such as the U.S. firm). Use of the terms
"organization" or "consulting organization" is
appropriate in most cases.
- The name "PricewaterhouseCoopers" may not be abbreviated
to "PwC" in any press vehicles. The full name must be used
in all references.
- No audit clients of PricewaterhouseCoopers may be named in AUAO
subcontractor press releases. PricewaterhouseCoopers will review each
press release draft for such mentions, and advise the subcontractor
of any issues before further review takes place.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers requires at least 10 business days to review,
edit and authorize AUAO subcontractor press releases; or alternatively,
such review requests must be made at least 10 business days in advance
of desired press release issue date.
- All subcontractor press releases will be submitted to the U.S. Army’s
public affairs office for final review after PricewaterhouseCoopers
concludes its own review process.
- A subcontractor may not appropriate the PricewaterhouseCoopers logo,
or images or words of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ employees, for its own
marketing & media relations purposes (e.g., within press releases,
promotional videos, quote sheets, marketing brochures, sales presentations
or other collateral) without prior written consent from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
