What is ADEC?
The world is not bound by time nor space
anymore.
ADEC is a distance learning consortium dedicated to the
quality and tradition of the Land-Grant University System, with
the vision and ability to provide 21st Century learners the
educational and professional growth opportunities they demand.
Approximately sixty land-grant institutions, nationwide, have joined
to develop more effective ways of reaching people who want and need learning
opportunities away from our traditional campuses.
The strength and tradition of the land-grant system have been
at the heart of education in our country for more than 90
years. Now as the digital age of learning dawns on the world,
what better place to come first for the education and
information required to stay competitive.
Twenty million people in this country are anticipating their
next career move. ADEC and the land-grant university system
are working together with just-in-time learning opportunities
unbounded by geography that will reach these people.
Access and availablity have been the originating and driving
forces of the land-grant system since its inception. But, now
that digital technology has begun to blur state lines and other
geographic boundaries, the meaning of access and availability
are changing . Today, they mean satisfying the customer in a
competitive environment, where the campus-based distribution
system is no longer the only game in town.
ADEC offers educational programs from land-grant universities
to learners where ever they may be. As Distance Learning
technology allows users the freedom to learn at their pace and
at the place of their choice, the only thing left is to provide
the information and education they want.
That's where ADEC comes in. We have what people want. Now we
can make it available in ways they can really use it.
