Connecting for the Future: Issues in Tribal Telecommunications and Information TechnologyRandy Ross and Craig Campbell recently attended that 59th session of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) in San Diego. With the help of Tachyon staff, they ran a booth that highlighted ADEC, Tribal College members, and Tachyon. A "live" dish was temporarily installed on the convention center roof providing direct and wireless internet access in the booth. Also on display was Tachyon's quick-deploy system (a modification on the standard CPE) which can be set-up in 30 minutes without any tools. The internet cafe was a hit as we had a good deal of traffic over the course of the week-long convention. Randy and Craig also presented during the telecom breakout session entitled
Connecting for the Future:
Issues in Tribal Telecommunications and Information Technology. The
presentations took place over two afternoons and provided a glimpse at
current telecom issues, projects, and solutions in Indian Country. A
