KAYE and JAN TOGETHER: We are here as Collaboration voices......we speak for ourselves.....we speak for others.....we will give voice to the dead and the unborn...and quote the famous and not so famous. We come before you as collaborators......as educators.....as creators and hopefully as stimulators. We are women at the half century mark.....who care....who want to make a difference in the lives of people. We ask you now to "Connect" with us as we journey together in the pursuit of knowledge.

KAYE: Opening remark

JAN: In June more than 2000 citizens of the world came together in Toronto for a Conference on Knowledge organized by the World Bank. In opening remarks Maurice Strong, Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General voiced the grand purpose of the meeting: "We are gathered here to talk about civilizational change driven by the knowledge revolution". In another voice later we heard Joy Male...a Secondary School Principal from a day school in Uganda working to provide education to girls. She hopes that new technology connections will help her collaborate on teaching and learning practices for the sciences, environment and humanities. She said even if they don't get the NET she'll find a way to do it anyway. Is change driven by connected knowledge....or by connected people....or both?
