JAN: It is important to see the whole picture.....it is most
important that women no longer be invisible....that women are
included as leaders. Perspective matters....who is doing the
viewing matters....the view from space is very different....women
are on the margins everywhere. We must begin to see the linkage
between women's indigenous knowledge and biodiversity/
biotechnology. What about intellectual property rights for whom?
We rapidly need basic education in science and technology for
all. The discussion on all issues will be different with women at
the table. SCATTERED PROJECTS FOR WOMEN DO NOT ADD UP TO A WORLD
STRATEGY. We must think about how to use these new technologies
as tools for inclusion. Women must be actors in development NOT
the objects.
